A dining room table has been designed so that you can sit around it and eat.
A bedside table, also referred to as a night table or nightstand, has been
designed to use in the bedroom. It is usually small and as the name suggest,
stands beside your bed. Usually, it is used to place small objects for use at
night such as small lamps, alarm clocks and glasses.
A refectory table is similar to a dining table with its function being a
place to dine at, but it is generally larger and longer than a dining table so
that many people can dine at once… the dining hall of monasteries where called
refectories!
A drawing table has been designed for technical drawing; the top usually can
be tilted and can have drawing aids such as rulers integrated within it.
A table with a chessboard integrated within it, is known as a chess table
and is used to play chess at.

these tables are usually hinged in a way so that they can be contracted in a
way to save space when the table is not in use.

table. Coffee tables are typically low tables which have been designed to use
within your living room next to a sofa or settee to place drinks, magazines or
books on.
Traditionally, these tables were made of wood, typically oak
tables and mahogany tables, but times are changing and you can now get tables
